Branding for a social finance civic organization.
Client Need
A global civic organization focused on social finance and access to justice and gender equality needed a brand logo to demonstrate the innovation and seriousness of it’s mission. The client requested that a photograph of a specific statue be incorporated into the logo.
Design Solution / Graphic
Photos of the 22-foot tall marble statue titled, ‘Justice’, by Bernard "Poco" Frazier were made available by photographer, Emma Highfill. The sculpture depicts a new embodiment of what justice looks like. A female figure is crouched as she releases a Prairie Falcon, signifying swift justice. Silhouettes were produced from selected photographs.
Typography
For the brand name and typographic elements, a bold, condensed sans serif font was chosen to impart the concept of authority, solidarity, and justice.
Color Palette
Spring Green, the primary brand color, represents new beginnings and growth. Sea Glass, a secondary color, evokes the fluidity of the sea and transparency of glass which align with brand values. Lovely Grey, an additional color, is a warm presence to welcome clients and supporters.
