Highlighting Scholarly Work through a permanent Exhibition.
Client Need
The Nova Institute for Health wanted a “mini” exhibition for permanent installation in their Baltimore headquarters. The piece needed to represent a distillation of a larger exhibition “Thrive! Healthy People • Healthy Planet” — the recent research published by Sara Warber, M.D. one of their scholars. Because they needed to minimize the impact on the walls of their repurposed factory building the “mini” exhibition had to conform to designated space on one wall.
Design Solution
Nine photographs were curated from the original 45 to represent Nine Essentials for Health: Air, Water, Food, Shelter, Energy, Safety, Community, Biodiversity, and Purpose. Each was paired with its corresponding statement to connect to the viewer.
Three text panels were designed to share the story of the Thrive! exhibitions, and to highlight the artists whose work was chosen for the permanent exhibition.
Acrylic panels were printed and mounted onto two 8-foot Maple Wood veneer core plywood boards. Stainless steel brushed finish stand-off pucks were specified for mounting hardware.
